Index Crash with 503 error...

Because the quality of image is not good:

The error is:

Web message count updated, message list not updated

We are running Zimbra FOSS 8.0.2 and have an issue in the web interface. The system will detect new messages coming in just fine and on the folder list at the left the count of messages in the Inbox will be properly updated in parenthesis.

The next column where we have the message list (By Message) however, we will not see any updates in the list UNTIL we click on the Inbox on the leftmost column. However, in the upper right of the message list column where it shows the number of messages this also will be updated properly, showing xx messages and then xx of xx+1 messges after a new message arrives.

I cannot seem to find any preferences or options that control the way this functions. My experience has been with other mail clients when new messages arrive counts AND message lists are updated which is what we have come to expect.

We have tried Chrome, Firefox and IE9 with all exhibiting the same issue. Can anybody shed some light on this. Thanks!

Zimbra 8.0.2 problem with web HTML Standard and group contact

Hi,
i've a problem when save a contacts group with GAL-Internal Members. In this case after we have saved, in the contact group there is the ID (example: e881f7f1-0ede-419c-8e32-08d75cb40cdf:1851) of the user and not the name and EMAIL.
When do this in AJAX version there are not problems.

Open attachment issue with OpenOffice

Hi everybody, I noticed a strange behaviour related to email attachments and Openoffice, using IE9. If I attach an .odt file to an email, the receiver has two possibilities to open it: click directly on the file name or click on "Download" link next to the file name. If he clicks on the file name an IE popup appears:

If he clicks on "open" the file opens correctly in Openoffice, but if he clicks on "Save copy as" button nothing happens (neither using ctrl+shift+s) shortcut, so he can't save a copy of that file.
If he clicks on "Download" link, instead, a different popup appears at the bottom of the window:

If he clicks on "Open" on this popup, it is possible to save the file in Openoffice with "Save copy as".
Anyone wonders why the behaviour is different? I noticed that the link associated to the two links is slightly different:

Briefcase error 404

Last week after we updated from Zimbra version 7.2.1 to 7.2.2 running on Ubuntu 10.04, we noticed that our Briefcase shares were no longer working. When I try to go to a public briefcase share, inside of our network I get the error: HTTP Error 404: no such item. The briefcase shares DO however work in the HTML web client. We are getting this 404 error in the Ajax client in firefox, chrome and IE8-9.

Here are the 2 URLs I see from Ajax and HTML:
Ajax: https:// zimbra.mydomain.com/service/user/sharedfolderaccount@mydomain.com/Shared%20Folder/subfolder/file.jpg?ver=1
HTML: https:// zimbra.mydomain.com/home/myuser@mydomain.com/sharedfolder/subfolder/file.jpg?auth=co

Now in those 2 URLs I am logged in as myself, Eric, trying to access a share on that larue account.

I cloned this machine and tried to upgrade it to 8.0.2 and still the same error occured. Then I setup a new server with Ubuntu 12.04 and installed a clean 8.0.2 and setup 2 test users and we also got the 404 error.

What are a few things I can look at to resolve this issue.

Update:

I started a fresh Ubuntu 10.04 box and installed Zimbra 7.1.0 and the briefcase worked fine. I updated to 7.2.0 and the briefcase still worked. I then updated 7.2.1 and the briefcase shares still worked. But going up to 7.2.2 broke the briefcase shares.

Access my Zimbra account via Internet Explorer 10 in Windows 8

Hi!

I can't access my Zimbra account using Internet Explorer 10.
I haven't any problem accessing via Firefox or Chrome.

Operative system is Windows 8
Zimbra version is 7.2.0_GA_2669.NETWORK
Interner Explorer version is 10.0.9200.16384

Copy appointment in a shared calendar

Hi everybody, my question is about how copying appointments in a shared calendar works. If someone shares me a calendar with admin or manager rights, I can create appointments on that calendar, as if I were the owner of that calendar. But if I create a copy of an appointment that is on that calendar on the same shared calendar, a popup warns me that "On copying an invited or shared appointment you will become the organizer for the copied appointment, and you won't receive any updates from the original appointment", and in fact the copied appointment appears with the red coloured bar, as if I was invited to that appointment, and if I try to edit that copied appointment I am warned that the changes made will be local only. Moreover, the calendar owner sees those copied appointments with the red bar as well.
There is also a small bug: if I try to delete one of these appointments with red bar, a popup asks me whether to inform or not the appointment organizer; if I choose yes, no mail are sent/received by the two involved accounts.
Could you explain me why there is this beaviour difference in creating and copying an appointment? Can't I copy an appointment as if I were the owner of the calendar, like it happens when I create a new appointment?

I miss the "Get Mail" button

Having recently upgraded our own deployment to ZCS 8.0, I am very happy with the developments, with one exception. Having used Zimbra since version 5, I had formed a habit of clicking the "Get Mail" button as a way to get back to my inbox, scroll to the newest messages and refresh all with one click. With this button gone, I am experiencing some withdrawal symptoms.

Does simply clicking on "Inbox" produce the same result, even if I'm already viewing the Inbox? In other words, do I get a cached version of my inbox if I'm already there, or is a refresh forced along with scrolling to the newest message?

Organise most used email folders as favourites

I posted this in zimlets but with no replies think maybe this forum is going to receive a (better) response... sorry admin if you want to delete one. I presumed this would be quite a common request.

Hi,

I am migrating from Outlook 2007 to Zimbra and have certain email folders, sub folders, and shared inboxes in my email folders/

I am hoping at the top my sidebar (above folders searchs, tags, zimlets), I can have another tab for favourites for my most used email folders. In fact, just as you can on Outlook.

I have searched the zimlet gallery and on google but haven't found anything that does this, and clues?

incoming html mail sometimes is shown as ascii?

Hello,

One of my customers uses a email branding tool on top of exchange, which adds a specific html layout to outgoing messages.

the messages that customer sends me, arrive most of time correctly formatted as expected.
Some however are shown in zimbra webclient as ascii messages with the layout files in attachment.
The customer has created those messages no different than the correct ones.

I deduplicated the customers outgoing mail to an gmail-account.
in gmail the "broken" messages are correctly depicted using the layout.

So it seem an issue with Zimbra webclient?
The source text of the troubled messages look the same to me in gmail as in zimbra, but I do not know that format well.

Within a month I should have found the time to upgrade to zimbra 8, perhaps that would solve it.

Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Exchange account can't connect to Zimbra server

Hi

I'm testing Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and when I try to create an Exchange account to connect with my ZCS 6.x I get the message shown in the attached file.

Note: I have removed the server details that's why the fields are blank ;)

P.S. I can connect fine from my iPhone using the same exchange credentials!

i have just started working on zimbra

i executed ./ldap-csvexport.pl with attributes i wanted but am getting this error

(Server says: IO::Socket::INET: connect: Connection refused)

any help in this matter will be appreciated

8.0 Activity Stream: Activity Stream Exceptions Rule

Hello all,

I thought I'd just like to bring to light some annoying default behavior that, unless caught early, pretty much ruins the use of the Activity Stream filter.

By default, when you turn on the Activity Stream, it creates a simple filter that is surprisingly effective. In fact, it tends to be a little too effective, but since it's not training spam, that's just fine.

The ability to automatically create rules to whitelist messages is wonderful. BUT - the default rule presented when you drag a message out of the Activity Stream is to match both the TO: address AND the FROM: address. This would be fine and well if it created one filter rule per message (which would be very inefficient), so it doesn't. It makes one new filter, called Activity Stream Exceptions, and sticks it at the top of the list.

So guess what happens when the user adds their second message exception? The AND condition of the filter changes to an OR condition, meaning that if the message matches either the TO: address OR the FROM: address, it won't go into the Activity Stream.

The only solution I've found to this issue so far is to manually edit the Activity Stream Exceptions filter rule and remove every reference to the user's own email address.

I suppose I should go file this as a bug on the Zimbra Bugzilla.

Importing zimba mail backup file .tgz to GMAIL?

Hello dear,

i experienced next problems, want to import all my mails from webmail zimbra to my another mail account - GMAIL, like some backup variant, so i exported all mails from webmail zimbra, through export function, and exported file is .tgz file.

I tried using thunderbird mail client, and polugin for import mbox files for thunderbird, which usually imports .eml files, and when i extracted .tgz backup file, and tried with thunderbird to import to some local folder in thunderbird, it didn't recognize .eml files from zimbra, cause it seems these .eml files are connected to some eml.meta files or something like that?

So, please suggest me what to do, to import files from .tgz to GMAIL, or in MS Outlook, or whatever? Do you have some tool for conversion files from backup to some standard format which will be accepted for outlook or gmail?
