Sync fails between Zimbra and BlackBerry

Hello,

We are using Zimbra 8 at the company as mailling client. We also have some BlackBerrys for the head of departments but we have not BES, BESX and nothing similar. Just BlackBerrys.

I have configured personal Zimbra account for each BlackBerry through BlackBerry's emailing manager directly, but I got the issue that if you mark an email as read in BB, it appears read in Zimbra (but not vice versa).

Could it be possible to switch this function off? i.e., when I mark something read in BB, it stays unread in Zimbra?

I am making the transition from Outlook. In Outlook I can click on a single day and then by holding down the CTRL key, and several other random days together on the desktop - e.g. every third Thursday for three months. Is there a way to do that in Zimbra?

Hello,
I finally upgraded from ZCS 608 (FOSS) to ZCS 802( NE starter).
I have still lots to discover, but ZCS seems more structured and cleaner (together if that's the word) than zcs6.

The new themes however I do not much care for: the 'faded' look is less readable than the version6 one
Example the inbox on both versions: I can hardly make out the difference between read/unread messages

I looked at the skin.properties file for the above Beach skin on both versions, but I don't find any font settings

Sync problem with new Google calendar integration ZDC 8.0

Hi,
I am using the new ZCS 8.0 CalDav integration for Google calendar. When I create the Google calendar in Zimbra through the wizzard it looks fine. All entries from Google calendar seems to be in Zimbra. But the calendar seem to be out of sync after a few time. When I delete the calendar (and clear the trash) and create new all Google entries are imported well again. A manually sync on right click is not available. Is there a other way to resync?

Hi Sirs,
I'm a new Zimbra user and I'm so exciting.

But I'm having a problem at the calendar.
When I create an appointment after the summer time (Feb 17th in Brazil) the calendar shows the appointment one hour before, but If I create before (Feb 16th) shows to me correctly.

Are there anybody that could help me ?

Mail Problem on gadget

I use standart mail client on gadget (iPhone 4S and macBook) to open email,
sometime i can't send or receive mail, But when i change the port smtp 587 and pop3 955,
to smtp 25 and pop3 110, and otherwise.. problem has been solved.

May somebody know the solution & How could this be happened,
so i dont need change the port many times..!! (I have check my firewall and there is no issue), thanks

Hi,

We run Zimbra 8 Network edition for our company email. I have been playing around with this new IM, Skype-type messaging solution from Microsoft called Lync. It works pretty well, but got me wondering whether Zimbra has something similar or any plans in the offing.
It would make more sense as there's likely to be better integration that way.

Contact in multiple addressbooks

When i put a contact in addressbook A and when I put the same contact in addressbook B it gets copied.

This result of that is that when I want to modify the contact, i have to modify it manually in all addressbooks.

Is there a possibility to use an instance of that contact in multiple addressbooks and not a copy?

one, perhaps silly question :-)
It is no problem to upload one file over the ZCS, but is it also possible to upload multiple files to the ZCS?
For example I have 20 pdf and 30 .doc and 40 .xls files.
Is there a easy and fast way to upload them to ZCS?

Sender in Addressbook but not correctly displayed

Hi,

I get emails for lets say "Peter Smith" that I have in my address book, but in the header of the mail it's something else: For example: "P. Smith". How can I set Zimbra, that it will display the name in the address book AND also show me, that it is a sender that is already saved in the address book?

Add mail attachment to Calander

I am trying to migrate my few remaining outlook users to the Ajax client so I can finally just have google apps here with no MS products. However the one big outstanding hurdle is that from within the Ajax interface you don't seem to be able to add Email as an attachment to the Calendar.

Whats odd is the functionality is there behind the scences as these users to it every day from within outlook and if you goto the calendar event in Ajax the Email is there as an attachment just fine. Is there anyway to add the email attacher function to the calendar and not just new mail?

Good morning. I do have an issue, and I would honstly like you guys to hear me out before claiming my stupidity

The situation is involving an email account that is giving 550 relay not permitted (in reply to RCPT TO command) errors to recipients. Here is my test though: I sent an email via my yahoo account to this zimbra account, which is being forwarded to another domain address. Now, I sent my message from yahoo to the user@zimbra.example.net, and i see the message arrived in the zimbra mail box, but about 2 hours later, I received:

Testing from remote server for mail flow
Now. I see the message sitting in the user's inbox for her zimbra account. the message is being saved in that inbox and forwarded to another email address. So I am suspecting something maybe in the forwarding might be the trouble. She has not received the message from my yahoo account, via the forwarding. Is there somewhere in Zimbra I can check this pathway and configuration? My other thought is, something is not communicating with her new domain very well from zimbra, but we can send her messages straight to the new address, and it works fine. I'm very perplexed and I am still new with administering Zimbra. So I am trying to figure out why the message goes through but still gets a bounce back with relay not permitted. This could be our mailcleaner device filtering the message to her forward.domain.uk address, but keeping the message from my yahoo in the zimbra mail account?

Zimbra with Mutt as an email client

Guys,

I freakin' love using Mutt as an email client. I have my own zimbra server (non-production) running in a linode that works beautifully. I'd like to also use mutt with this server. But I notice that when I launch mutt, after authenticating I see that it gets to this stage and sits there perpetually:

Auto archiving from the webmail

Hi Everyone,

We have a multi-platform environment where people on Macs and PCs are accessing zimbra via webmail, Outlook and Apple Mail. We need to find a way that users can archive mail either manually or automatically (based on date range etc.) to a folder on the zimbra server that does not sync to their email clients (This is not really a big deal as outlook does not mount shared folders unless set to and Apple Mail, which connects via IMAP, can probably be set to ignore a folder for IMAP sync). Mainly we want to reduce the amount of mail in a person's mailbox so that they aren't syncing so much data to their mail clients. Zimbra itself is great at handling very large mailboxes but outlook and apple mail are not and get bogged down. I have looked at creating an archive mailbox and then creating an archive folder for each user and sharing each folder out to the appropriate user. This would provide a manual archive but to be realistic most people do not want to spend the time doing this so we really need an automatic solution. The only archive related zimlet I found appears to be depreciated and does not work on our version of zimbra 7.2. This seems like it would be a common problem and is a basic feature in outlook. Any ideas on a solution to this common problem?

Hello

I am running ZCS 8.2 and would like to find some pre-made material or webex's that give a new user (and some old stubborn ones ) a walk though of best practice uses. We ask our users to use the webmail so something that goes over how to do basic and advanced functions in the email client. I have been looking over the site for days, (wiki, forums ect..) and have not found anything.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

windows 7 crash when opening zimbra in internet explorer 9

hello,

one of our clients is having an odd problem using zimbra.

when she opens zimbra (8.0.1 Foss) in internet explorer 9 (including all updates) her OS (windows 7, also including all updates) crashes and reboot.
she can use IE normally without using zimbra. but at the moment she start zimbra or logon to the mailserver windows crash and reboots. no problems when using another browser like firefox.

on the client side and on the server side there are no events stating any problem.

and to make it even more strange: when I log in to her windows-account using teamviewer I can see things go wrong, but when I log in to her windows account using RDP IE behaves normally and I can start zimbra and login to any zimbra-account.
when I login to the hardware as an admin, no problems there, Teamviewer or RDP.

other clients doesn't have this problem although they are using similar setup (win 7, IE 9, Zimbra 8 FOSS)

so far I can't see what is going wrong, so if any one have a clue on this, regards Fons

Automatic forward duplicates a mail

Hi

whenever I enter a adress for automatic forward each mail is forwarded twice. There are no other filters or anything configured.
If I empty the forward adress no mail is forwarded at all.

Mutliple Email 'Mark Read' "issue"

Hello,

I've noticed if you hit the Select All checkbox in Zimbra, if you right click on any email the "Mark Read" will be grayed out if there's even one already read email in the list, yet even if there's unread emails you can select "Mark Unread" which will mark them all unread.

This holds true even if you manually select the emails and add even one previously read email to your list. Sometimes I won't read the emails (not that critical etc) but I don't want to delete it either just incase, but I hate seeing say 157 new/unread emails in my inbox. It would be great if I could hit the "Select All" and then right click on any one email and hit 'Mark Read' and have all the messages marked as read. If it can be done with 'Mark Unread', why can't it be done with 'Mark Read'?

Also, just clicking each message to make it report as being read isn't a practical option as some nested messages may go 25 deep and only 1 within that group is "Unread" etc.

Anyhow, just a suggestion (that I really wish can be implemented)

Hi,

When I creating a new task in zimbra, it resets reminder date to system date if I enable email notification. What is the reason? anybody has the same issue? Please help me.. My zimbra version is zcs-8.0.2.
