Can't get folder to sync

OK, so I got Zimbra because I wanted to back up my Yahoo email to my PC. I initially tried Thunderbird, but the problems I was having, every solution I found was phrased in technical language and I'm not a techie. I finally gave up in frustration--but not before, somehow in the various things I tried, I ended up deleting everything in the one folder I most wanted to preserve. So I backed up everything else on Zimbra, exported it, and used 7-Zip to turn it into a file that can be read with a desktop email client. So far so good.

Meanwhile I asked Yahoo to restore the crucial folder, which it did overnight (yay, Yahoo!). Only now I can't get Zimbra to back up that folder. It has the two emails that were in the folder yesterday, but not the restored ones. I'm guessing the restore broke the connection between the folder on Zimbra and that on Yahoo. How do I fix it? And PLEASE, I BEG YOU, talk "dumb" to me!!

External Account Failure after domain transfer

Hi guys , I have a problem with a Zimbra server 8.0.2_GA_5569 (build 20,121,210,115,059 ) :confused:
Everything worked until the transfer of the domain ( www.xxx.com ) on the new server.
Since the e-mail management was transferred to the new server , the :mad: (POP3 connector) stopped working and gives me the following error:

zimbra connector for mac outlook

Hi

As far as I can tell there is no zimbra connecter for mac outlook to do all mail, contact and calenders etc.
I have opted for imap in outlook, and the Zimbra Connector for Apple iSync to get the contacts and calenders. This has worked until the Maverick release of Mac for me.
My first question is there a plan for the zimbra connector for mac outlook? I'm happy if the answer is there are no current plans for this. I'm just an IT tech and have had to set up zimbra on macs occasionally for clients. I know there is the zimbra desktop.
My second question is the Zimbra Connector for Apple iSync meant to work on the Mac OS maverick? I had it working perfectly on leopard, but have been unsuccessful on two separate macs with maverick on them. The calendars and the contacts dont sync. Moreover I believe its the sync service as I cant get that to start. I have followed the zcs zimbra Connector for Apple iSync guide to setting it up as well.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Issue deleting old forwarding Address

My zimbra is still forwarding to a yahoo address that is no longer in use. I cannot delete that account from my preferences because it is not there. I feel like I linked the accounts and then zimbra updated and I no longer see the same preferences I set up originally. Im really tired of professors getting a fail to sender response.

Zimbra and location and equipment

Good day to all,

i have an issue with my zimbra installation. I have it running on my local server and it seems to work fine but, when i try to setup some "equipments" or "locations" they don't appear in the search window while scheduling an appointment.
Here are the steps i do in order to create the resource:
  1. Log in into the admin console
  2. click on manage
  3. click on resources
  4. create the resources for example "room number 1" and "projector"
  5. log out the admin console
  6. then log in my user account and try to schedule an appointment adding a couple of participants and try to find the location i have just set up


Assuming i did alright the resource should show up while searching the location and the resource i have just created right? Well they never show up... during my tests i have created and deleted several equipments and resources trying different ways to set them up and now i have a different issue: Zimbra displays a piece of equipment that's not on the list anymore infact i have my "resources" page empty but when i search for an equipment in my the "search window" it shows up...

Would you guy enlighten me and please explain how do locations and resources work please?

E-mail confirming appointments getting sent out multiple times

Hello,
in Zimbra 8.0.6 NE we have the problem that sometimes when users create appointments and invite each other (Zimbra users only), the e-mail confirming the attendance to an appointment that is sent out gets sent out mulitple times. The problem is hard to track as I cannot reproduce it, no matter what I try. It does not happen very often, but it is very annoying for the users, as the get sent sometimes several hundred e-mails confirming the same appointment.

Does anybody have experienced the same problem? Any hints what could be wrong?

problem when filter appointments with tags

Hello Zimbra Users,

I usually apply Tags to my Appointments, in order "mark" them with some nice colours...

Now, when I click on a Tag, the Agenda view is filtered with only such appointments that were been tagged with this Tag.

But no way to restore a "no filter" view, and see again all appointmens together.... How can I remove this filter? Changing view (and then returning to Agenda) is not useful.

Is Zimbra Collaboration Suite able to save E-Mails as a ZIP file with metadata unlike Zimbra Desktop which could only save E-Mails with metadata if saved as a TGZ file?

Warn certificate Ms. Outlook

Hi everybody:

I tried everything in order to dissapear the warn certificate alert when I open Ms. Outllook but nothing changed. So I would like to know if is there another way to do this.

I tried installing the certificate in the windows repositories (personal, trusted root, etc), exporting the ca.pem from zimbra server, adding the ca.cer through certificates from Windows MMC.

Server sending emails to itself

For two weeks, my zimbra server user send to itself an email every 30 seconds... Any idea why ?

Anyone experienced this before?

run a rule or filter to copy all inbox mail to a folder upon receipt

I am new to Zimbra and want to run a rule that automatically copies all received mail from the Inbox into another folder (called "All Read Mail").

Then I can aggressively read/delete/forward mail to keep my Inbox at zero but always have a copy in case I need to retrieve it.

In the filters, I do not see a COPY function.

This was something I did in Outlook/Exchange quite easily.

Am I missing something? Or is there a simple work around anyone knows of?

Problem with anchor links in Zimbra 8

Hi,

we've got a problem with e-mails that have links in them that link to anchors further down in the e-mail. This is used so users can have a kind of TOC on top that links to the actual articles further down in the e-mail. A link would look something like this:

<a href="#OTS_20140217_OTS0169" style="font-weight: bold; color: #717f8d; text-decoration: none;">Link</a>

and further down you'll find

<a name="OTS_20140217_OTS0173"></a>

Clicking the link should scroll the e-mail to the named anchor.
In Zimbra 8.0 the href of the link is appended to the current URL including all parameters, so #OTS_20140217_OTS0169 becomes https://your.server.com/zimbra/#OTS_20140217_OTS0148 and opens up a new instance of the webclient in the frame that's supposed to show the e-mail.

Is there some way to change this behaviour? Or is this a bug?

Outgoing Email through SMTP are not saved.

Hi,

I just install Zimbra and it is working great. Except for one thing that outgoing email through SMTP from Wordpress is not saved in the Sent folder. Here are the details:

- I just switched from Zoho mail to my own Zimbra server. I'm running Wordpress with SMTP plugins. Outgoing messages were saved in Sent folder.
- I test Zimbra SMTP with Android email app, and the message is saved in Sent folder.
- Outgoing email from website is also saved in Sent folder.

However, when Wordpress sent email using SMTP, the message is sending out fine, but it doesn't save a copy of the message to Sent folder. I hope someone can help me on this issue.

I am trying to set up outlook on my computer to imap or pop my zimbra account as I like my emails locally.
I cannot find your imap or pop settings, I have looked online, on the forums and everywhere else I could.
I was using thunderbird until it kept freezing up so I am using outlook and the settings I had in thunderbird aren't working. I need imap and pop settings also any other pertinent information like does it require secure authentication. here is a copy of error message.

Unable to logon to the server using Secure Password Authentication. Account: 'Palmer Mail', Server: 'webmail.va1.emailserver.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid command', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

Zimbra 8.0.6 POP3 not delete email on server

On:
Release 8.0.6.GA.5664.UBUNTU12.64 UBUNTU12_64 FOSS edition.

Problem:
Setup POP3 on Outlook 2007 and Thunderbird then check email. Everything work perfect but email on server not delete after complete download to email client.

zimbra 8.0.6 and print action problem

Hi, i've installed zimbra Zimbra 8.0.6_GA_5922 (build 20131203103702). I've a problem with print function in web mail client.
If a user receive an html mail and press the p button the print preview is correct and show images.
If a user click two times on a mail and after press p or action print the print preview show html tag and strange character, missing date and mail sender address.
So i've noticed in debug mode that when a print is correct the link is:

100.0.0.197/h/printmessage?id=281&tz=Europe/Berlin&xim=1

instead when the print is incorrect the link is:

100.0.0.197h/printmessage?id=281&part=1&tz=Europe/Berlin&xim=1

The difference is part=1. If i removed this the print preview is correct.

I've tested it with iexplorer 11, firefox 27.0.1 and chrome 33.0.1750.117 m, in normal pc and terminal server but nothing change.

So how i can resolve this problem?

Filter from person

Hi,
This should be simple but I cannot find out how to filter a message that comes from a particular person say John Smith, who uses multiple email addresses. I can filter messages from John or from Smith but not from both. This should be simple but I just cannot work out how to do it or find anything online to help me with this.
