Mac Mail not seeing folders

Hi,

When one of our staff adds his Zimbra IMAP account to Mac Mail in Mountain Lion it does not see any of the folders, only the inbox.

We tried looking for folders to subscribe to in account info but we nothing appears.

The folders are all there in the Web client. I have also tried removing the Mac mail folder and restarting the app.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I have a weird situation.

I as a zimbra user am also a member of a distribution list. I send an email to a customer and a cc to the distribution list using the Zimbra Webclient (7.2.0).

The mail I receive back as a member of the distributionlist is marked as "Junk" :confused: I am sending myself Junk mail :)

Any solution?

Allowing User To Change Name

Is there a way to allow users to change there email display name through webmail preferences? Basically First and Last Name I want the user to have the power to change under the webmail interface. I do not want to allow them to change there email address just there display name.

On our current server Squirrel mail allows this.

Problem using Zimbra web client inside an iframe - Internet Explorer

Hi,
I'm having a problem using the Zimbra web client interface inside an iframe on my page, on Internet Explorer (I am using IE9).
Unless I specify this meta tag on the main page: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7"> , it doesn't work.
What i get is the loading splash screen and the option to use the Standard html interface (which works fine, but is not what i'm looking for).

Any ideas on how I could get it working inside the iframe, but without specifying the meta tag ?

searching for special characters

Hi all, I have a problem with mail searching (Zimbra NE 7.2):

The word I want to find is Živana. If I search the exact term, with the Ž, it works.
But if I try to search zivana, Zivana, *ivana it doesn't.

It seems like the partial word indexing is not accomplished if there are non-ansi characters.

Can someone confirm this, and tell me if there is a workaround?

Subscribe public calendars.

Hello All
Is anyone extensively using Zimbra as a public calendar? We are looking at leveraging Zimbra to make public calendars available to our users. Ideally, we'd be able to have several hundred public calendars available for our users to pick and choose from. When they find one they are interested in, they add that calendar to their private Zimbra account. So for example, they'd be able to see their private calendar along with their selected public calendar(s).

I saw some other peoples also have this requirements. Let me know if any one have solution.

Cannot attach email when composing email in new windows

We have users experiencing the this issue ONLY if they compose email in new windows:

When they attempt to attach email, the attach email windows show blank. When view message button is clicked. A error message shows:

Unable to parse the search query.
msg: Couldn't parse query:
code: mail.QUERY_PARSE_ERROR
method: [unknown]
detail: soap:Sender
data: [object Object]
trace: btpool0-86363://mail.domain.com/service/soap/SearchRequest:1346752031793:c570b52ab3cf3512
request: user@domain.com

However, if there is already an attachment in the email, the attach email windows will not have this problem. This happen in IE 8 and Firefox 14.

Move emails from Zimbra Client to new install of Zimbra OSE

Hi All,

First let me apologize if this is the wrong forum, I did search and was unable to find anything along these lines.

***Background***
I had installed Zimbra OSE to test it out and learn more. It worked great for a while. I had maybe 6 or 7 accounts on it, and used the Zimbra Desktop client with IMAP. Unfortunately the computer it was running on kept crashing and eventually corrupted the install. That server is not accessible anymore. I was unable to figure out how to repair, so I simply installed it fresh on my VMWare ESXi box.

***Question***
What is the best method to move the emails from the client back to the new install of Zimbra OSE? Is there a way for IMAP to use the client as the source? Or would I need to try renaming profiles and dragging and dropping things into newly created profiles?

Any information would be helpful, thanks in advance.

Problems logging in to VMWare Zimbra Web Client

Hi everybody!

For something about a month ago I can't connect to Zimbra Web Client anymore with the advanced client. I'm only allowed to log in with the standard client which isn't require JavaScript. When trying to connect in advanced mode I receive the following error:

JavaScript must be enabled in order for you to use the Zimbra advanced client. However, it seems JavaScript is either disabled or not supported by your browser. To use Zimbra, enable JavaScript by changing your browser options, then try again or click here to switch to the basic client which does not require JavaScript.

I tried to log in from several computers and assure that JavaScript is enabled but I receive the same error on every device I tried.

Please give me some solution solving this problem. It's important for me because I want to use the Zimlets and this is possible only in advanced mode.

Search function and filing resulting messages in folders

With the new search function in ZCS 8, it creates a completely new paradigm of workflow.
We lose the complete function of quickly and easily drag-n-drop resulting messages to folders. It's kind of a primary function of maintaining good taxonomy and organization of messages plus bulk filing on the fly.

The designers/decisionmakers of this wanted the search functions to be more featured but it has completely the opposite effect on productivity. Having to use the drop-down chooser really slows down productivity plus is a complete departure of a regular and familiar work flow of Zimbra users over three versions.

This was a very bad executive decision on your part. Please return this function. It has caused a serious rift in my organization as to the integrity of the Zimbra company in making these command decisions without any notice so that an entire enterprise can transition. For us, it's a showstopper.

Can document file in briefcase can be viewed as thumbnails in ZCS open source edition

I found under the network edition, the document files in briefcase can be viewed as thumbnails but not in open sources edition. If is open source edition not allow user to view document in thumbnails?

Hosting provider - Administrator powers

Hello,
I have a start-up company.
We started using the Zimbra e-mail tool provided through an external company (which also hoosts it).
A year ago, they installed it and asked us for the DNS requirements.

Right now we are in a conflict...

My question is (I am not a tech person):
is it possible that the hoosting provider (w/administrator role) sent mails in the name of the created users?

For what I read, as administrator (and hoosting providers) they can check all of my company´s users mailboxes.

But COULD they have sent mails in the name of the users themselves to other partys???

Shared Tagging How can I share tags of contacts ??

In the release notes of version 8 I find:
Shared Tagging. In Zimbra 8 tagging functionality has been improved so
that when items are shared users cannot only use tags to organize their
data but also share these tags across applications as well as mailboxes

How can I share tags? I didn't find a way to share my contacts with tags.

Duplicated contacts and calendar entries

Hi to all, I've a problem with shared contacs and calendar.
I shared contacs and calendar from xxx user in yyy user, but user yyy, instead of one voice "xxx's contacts", sees many duplicated contacts like "xxx's contacts{14d41a90-2ca9-4d94-9832-c400b7903905}" (only one) or "xxx's contacts{14d41a90-2ca9-4d94-9832-c400b7903905}{0180b78c-695c-4c91-a860-51b28cdb6d9a}" (many entries, here last part changes); same things happens with calendar.
I tried to delete and make again shared contacts and calendar but problem went again.
Recently I've done upgrade from 5 to 6 version, maybe it's related, but only this user get this problem.
I attach an image explaining the situation; unfortunately, you can't see the complete string because the column width is limited.

Filter extensions

Folks,

It has occurred to me that a few changes would make Zimbra message filters extremely powerful. These ideas can be implemented individually, or they can build on the added capability of each:

  1. URL
    If I can look for a URL in the body of a message, I'm able to do a bit of my own message validity checking to get rid of some phishing spam.
  2. DOESN'T CONTAIN
    A not operator allows really complex and powerful filters to be built using only simple constructs. At the moment I'm being bombarded by phishing spam from not Amazon.com. If I could build a filter that would compare the from list with Body text doesn't contain <token>, I might be able to nail this junk.
  3. GROUPS
    GROUPS would allow enable one filter to do multiple tasks, reducing the risk of spam being missed, and (possibly) stopping legitimate messages being classified as spam. The ability to look for multiple complex matches allows me to build one phishing filter, one smut filter, one <whatever>, each comprised by groups of matches that at present are individual filters. At the end of processing, results of the groups are OR-ed together to create a very powerful general filter. Granted, these could get pretty complicated, but hey, that's my business.


I'm an end user of Zimbra; it would be dangerous for me to actually touch any code.

Zimbra 8 webclient not working in Opera

Hi guys,

well my enthusiasm for Zimbra 8 quickly disappeared when I saw that not only did you still recommend me using the HTML client with Opera, but the Javascript client doesn't work at all anymore.
Do you not intend to support Opera at all or will this be fixed in a future update?

[RESOLVED] Zimbra 8 - Check box selection

Within the ZCS 7 Inbox view one could select emails to delete etc via clicking a checkbox to the left off the email. Now in ZCS 8 that appears to have disappeared and one now needs to CTRL click the emails to select multiple. Am a missing a preference somewhere to change to the old functionality as I have not found it yet :(
